Well known in 20-something backpacker circles, this hostel has a pretty average shower to bed ration – about one to ten – but makes up for it with beautifully 1920’s design improved with a touch of minimalist architecture – white walls and big skylights - and an opened out layout. If it’s not the surrounds that grab you but the perks the free breakfast of fruit and pastries or free Spanish lessons might help tip the scales. The roof terrace or ground floor piano bar would probably do it for me – or else the basement where they hold art exhibitions. But the list of built in entertainment options doesn’t end there, tango or yoga lessons are held in the communal spaces in the busy season. In fact there’s a yoga room on the fifth and top floor – the communal kitchen/ dining room is on the first, and the mini cinema, oh, didn’t I mention that, is on the forth. If everything but the lack of showers sounds promising upgrade out of the eight bed dorm and into a private room
