Very much an active temple, the early 20th century Jade Emperor Pagoda features dark teak carvings and fantastic, eerie depictions of deities such as the King of Hell, Kim Hua (a goddess of fertility), and, of course, the Jade Emperor himself. The smoke of burning incense floats through the pagoda, creating an air of mystery and other-worldliness well-suited for its spiritual uses.
