Markha Valley Homestay Trek    Markha Valley Homestay Trek

New eco-friendly version of a beautiful two-week classic trek.

15 days, from £1395 (Group tour). Mountain Kingdoms »

This is the one trek that I would love to repeat and have yet been unable to. The trail starts on the southern side of the valley where you enter through a mountain pass at 1650 feet, surrounded by icy peaks, it then edges across the northern side in the rain shadow where it’s dry and rocky. The area has several Tibetan Monasteries, which you visit along the route and small villages, where people are still living very traditional lifestyles. This is a difficult trek, it’s 22 days through a very remote and challenging region, but afterwards it feels like a major achievement.
