Sleeping on a luxury motor boat on the Med

If you fancy a taste of the highlife when you visit Catalonia in Spain this is an unforgettable experience: 24-hours on board a designer 2007-built 21 metre motor boat. The best part has to be sleeping in interior designed en-suite cabins more akin to a swanky boutique hotel, with the sound of the Med lulling you to into slumber.

We went for a girls’ weekend away and it lived up to all our expectations. After being welcomed on board by the captain we were shown around the chic living space, featuring cutting-edge furnishings in whites, creams and browns, and state-of-the-art appliances such as three plasma TVs, two DVD players, stereo hi-fi system and an ultra cool chrome fitted kitchen. The three en-suite cabins, surprisingly, had loads of space, so we settled in before experiencing the thrill of travelling up to 33 knots over the ocean waves with the two potent 1360 horse power motors.

You can spend the time as you please, but we decided to explore some of the deserted coves along the coast, go for a swim and snorkel and sunbathe with a bottle of bubbly. In the evening we went the whole hog with caterers and a silver service gastronomic meal washed down with potent local wine. We could have had a barbeque too, but this was our 24-hours of luxury and we wanted to enjoy every moment of it! Our luxury experience is available all year round at the northern Costa Brava port of Estartit and can be extended from 24-hours to weekends, weeks or more. Next time we might go for a weekend and sail to Minorca, have dinner, spend the night there then sail back!
